Email support@bitbook.lol with a bug, a question, or a feature request. Bitbook is built and supported by one person, so it comes to me directly.
Reporting a bug
Details make the problem easier to reproduce. Useful things to include:
- What you were doing, and what you expected instead.
- Your device and OS version (Settings › General › About).
- A screenshot or screen recording, if there is something to see.
Don't send a recording or a bit you wouldn't want read. I never need your material to fix a bug, and unless you send it, I can't see it. See the privacy policy.
The release notes list what changed in each version, in case what you're seeing is already fixed.
Common questions
- Is Bitbook free?
- Yes, all of it. Bits, versions, set lists, labels, performance logging, star ratings, quick capture with transcription, full-text search, Live Show, timed practice on a bit or a whole set, rehearsal and show recording, tape transcription, laugh analysis, sharing a set for feedback, themed backdrops, iCloud sync, and export. There are no in-app purchases and nothing to subscribe to.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There's no sign-up and no server to sign in to. Open the app and start writing.
- Does it sync across my devices?
- Yes. Bitbook syncs your whole library through your own iCloud account, and recordings download to each device when you need them.
- How do I move everything to a new iPhone?
- Sign the new phone into your Apple Account and install Bitbook: your library syncs down, and recordings follow as you play them. You can also export a .bitbook archive on the old phone and open it on the new one. Archives are encrypted with a key that lives in your iCloud Keychain, so they open on your own devices with nothing to type.
- Can you see my jokes?
- No. There are no accounts, no third-party analytics, and no trackers in the app. Your material stays on your device and in your personal iCloud, and I never have access to it. Apple can share aggregated crash and performance reports with me if you opt in, but those describe how the app behaved, never what you wrote.
- What does it run on?
- iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple TV. There's no Android or web version. The App Store listing shows the exact system requirements.
